Overview
The GD32G5xx series MCUs are powered by the high-performance Arm® Cortex®-M33 core, operating at up to 216 MHz. Designed for high-efficiency real-time processing, the series integrates advanced DSP extensions, a single-precision floating-point unit (FPU), and multiple hardware accelerators including a trigonometric function unit (TMU), filter algorithm accelerator (FAC), and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) engine, significantly improving processing efficiency for complex control and signal processing applications.
Optimized Memory Architecture for Real-Time Performance
The GD32G5xx series MCUs are equipped with 256KB to 512KB of embedded Flash memory with dual-bank support, and 128KB of SRAM. This includes 32KB of Tightly Coupled Memory (TCMRAM) for zero-wait execution of critical instructions and data.
Additionally, the devices feature high-speed cache memory, including up to 2KB instruction cache (I-Cache) and 512B data cache (D-Cache), further enhancing core performance and real-time responsiveness.
Comprehensive Analog and Control Peripherals
The GD32G5xx series integrates a wide range of high-performance analog and control peripherals. It supports four 12-bit ADCs with sampling rates of up to 5.3 MSPS and up to 42 channels, as well as four 12-bit DACs, two of which support sampling rates up to 15 MSPS.
In addition, the series includes eight high-speed comparators and a comprehensive set of high-precision analog peripherals. A 16-channel high-resolution timer (HRTimer) with accuracy down to 145 ps enables precise control for applications such as high-speed motor control and digital power systems.
The timer resources are further extended with three advanced 8-channel timers, two 32-bit general-purpose timers, five 16-bit general-purpose timers, two 16-bit basic timers, and one low-power timer, providing flexible timing and control capabilities.
Advanced Connectivity and High-Speed Interfaces
For system communication and expansion, the GD32G5xx series offers five U(S)ARTs, four I2Cs, three SPIs, and one high-speed QSPI interface supporting up to 200 MHz in DDR/SDR modes.
The devices also integrate 3×CAN-FD modules, enabling high-speed and reliable communication for industrial and power applications.
Additionally, the series includes one high-performance digital filter (HPDF) supporting 8 channels and 4 filters, with support for external sigma-delta modulators, enabling precise signal acquisition in advanced sensing systems.
Four configurable logic modules (CLAs) and a Trigsel module provide flexible trigger configuration and hardware-level signal control, enhancing system integration and design flexibility.
Functional Safety and Robust Security
The GD32G5xx series MCUs are equipped with multiple security features, including secure boot, secure OTA updates, secure debug, and secure firmware upgrade mechanisms, ensuring robust protection for communication and system integrity.
The series supports the IEC 61508 SIL2 functional safety standard and provides a comprehensive safety package, including a Safety Manual, FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis), and a self-test library, enabling deployment in safety-critical applications.
Designed for Demanding Industrial and Power Applications
Designed to operate across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 105°C, the GD32G5xx series is well suited for demanding environments requiring high reliability.
It can be widely applied in digital power systems, charging stations, energy storage inverters, frequency converters, servo motor control, and optical communication systems, supporting the development of high-efficiency, high-precision, and intelligent embedded solutions.
