Overview

The GD32A71x, GD32A72x, and GD32A74x automotive-grade MCU series feature an ultra-high-performance Arm® Cortex®-M7 core architecture, supporting single-core, dual-core, and single-core lockstep configurations. The series operates at two main frequencies of 120 MHz and 160 MHz, delivering up to 763 DMIPS of computing performance. It integrates up to 4 MB on-chip Flash and 512 KB SRAM, and supports dual-bank Flash architecture for seamless OTA updates. With a wide operating voltage range of 2.97 V to 5.5 V and an operating temperature range of –40 °C to +125 °C, the devices are AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified and designed for a service life exceeding 15 years, provides a reliable hardware foundation for safe and stable system operation.

To support body control and in-vehicle networking applications, the series integrates a rich set of communication interfaces, including up to 8 CAN FD channels, 12 LIN interfaces, and a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port with AVB and TSN support. In addition, it provides up to 6 SENT interfaces, meeting the requirements of chassis-related applications and enabling flexible connectivity across a wide range of automotive systems.

In terms of functional safety and security, the GD32A71x/72x series complies with ISO 26262 ASIL B, while the GD32A74x series meets the higher ISO26262 ASIL D requirements. Both series comply with the EVITA-Full security standard and support the SM2, SM3, and SM4 cryptographic algorithms, aligning with ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity requirements and enabling secure deployment in global automotive applications.

The GD32A71x, GD32A72x, and GD32A74x portfolio is available in 5 packages and 24 models, providing flexible choices for diverse automotive system requirements.

  • GD32A71x supports Cortex®-M7 single-core and M23 independent information security core, with two main frequency options of 120/160MHz, three Flash memory sizes of 1MB, 2MB, and 4MB, and four package configurations LQFP64/100/144/176, totaling nine models.
  • GD32A72x features Cortex®-M7 dual cores along with M23 independent information security core. It operates at a main frequency of 160MHz, offers two Flash memory options of 2MB and 4MB and three package configurations LQFP144, LQFP176, and BGA257, totaling six models.
  • GD32A74x supports Cortex®-M7 single-core lockstep and M23 independent information security core. It operates at a main frequency of 160MHz, offers three Flash memory options of 1MB, 2MB, and 4MB and three package configurations LQFP100, LQFP144, and LQFP176, totaling nine models.
